About

Meet Your Hosts!

We met eleven years ago in Denver, Colorado when we worked together at a middle school in the inner city. Shaina was a case manager and Tyee was an acting teacher for an after school program. On our first date, over sushi, we discussed the overlap between our two industries; how we both hold space for the human experience; how we both desire to make the world a better place. Over the past decade, Shaina has developed my career as a Trauma-Informed therapist. Tyee has developed his career as an actor, writer, and producer. We have continued to have conversations about the ways in which our careers intersect. This is how our podcast was born. We hope you enjoy!

Shaina Fawn, LCSW

Founder and CEO of Therapeutic Bridges

I was born and raised in the beautiful high desert of Northern New Mexico. I was raised by a single mother and was the oldest of two daughters. My mother suffered from debilitating depression her entire life and this led me to care deeply about mental health awareness and stigma. In 2003 I started my career in the field of mental health when I began volunteering at the crisis center on my college campus, working as a crisis support volunteer in suicide prevention and intervention. I later found my way to social work and eventually to therapy and consulting. I have been in the field of mental health for nearly 20 years and have experience in child welfare, hospice, medical social work, and integrated care. My drive to become a social worker was born out of an attraction that I have always had to human resiliency. From a young age, I sensed that humans had an incredible ability to be able to overcome adversity and heal from the darkest of days. My passion is for working with artists and creatives to help build connections for healing and wellness. I am deeply committed to mentoring, educating, and supervising future social workers. I feel honored to be a part of people's journeys to healing. My approach is laid back and down to earth. I am warm, nurturing, and empathetic. I like to start where my clients are on their journey. My goal is to create safe spaces where people can be vulnerable, express themselves without fear of being judged. My hope is that my clients will be able to tap into their innate resilience in order to build connections, relationships, and strength for a brighter tomorrow.
